Show Public hearing called to review $1.5 million budget for Cedar City right away, the Mayor said. The city in preparing the budget have also anticipated above normal increase In rev-enue rev-enue from sales tax and property prop-erty tax for the fiscal year. A public hearing on the proposal pro-posal 1972-73 fiscal budget for Cedar City Corporation will be held Thursday evening, June 15, at 9 pm, it is announced by Mayor Loren Whetten. The proposed budget incorporates incorp-orates revenue Income of approximately ap-proximately $1.5 million, including in-cluding some $550,000 in grand money for improvements at the Cedar City Municipal Airport. Air-port. On the expenditure side the Ariport improvements and the construction of additional facilities fac-ilities for housing of the Federal Fed-eral Aviation Administration offices Is by far the largest single item on the proposed budget, the Mayor indicated. Grant funds, as indicated will provide the majority of funds for the project, but the administration building addition addi-tion is not a participating project, pro-ject, rather one that will be amortized out over a 10 year period through lease agreements agree-ments with FFA. As a result the lease income will also be a factor in the income side of the budget. The council has also tentatively tent-atively approved an additional addition-al $18,000 for the purpose of moving Into a land-fill garbage gar-bage disposal system for the community. The figure is over and above. what is currently being expended by the city for garbage disposal. Collector road funds will account ac-count for another $59,000 item In the budget although right of ways and development have not yet been completed to firm up the proposed project |
