Marion Dawson, roccntly from England, now living in Farmington, gave a talk on England to Mr. Olmstead's history his-tory class at Davis Tuesday morning. Steve Barton, ,son of Don and June Barton, left Wedncs day for San Diego where he will begin two years service in the marine corps. The First ward annual ri--union will be held this Saturday Sat-urday with dinner for those over 65, widows and special guests. Dinner will be erved for all other mem'bers of tin ward from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Due to stake conference there will be no evening program. Ray and Barbara Evans are gener al chairmen, with Reed anc' Marie Oviatt, chairmen of the food committee. Gladys and Gill Robinson and Ralph and Alpha Steed are in charge of table decorations. Carl and Edna Swaner are in charge of hall decorations. Lloyd Hfcss is program chairman; Rex ant' Glenda Rigby, serving; Carol and Sam Welch, transportation Myrtle Criddlc, advertising Tom and Elaine Wood, dishes and Clara Richards and Hor ace Van Fleet Sr., reception committee. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Castano were dinner guests Saturday at the Richard and Beverly Ellis home. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sessions had a family birthday dinner Saturday night for Milton's mother, Mrs. Calvin Sessions. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Steed had as dinner guests last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Jay Steed of Lay-ton; Lay-ton; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Steed of Salt Lake. Juest of honor was Mrs. Dean Steed (Inez) whose birthday they were cele brating. The first ward girls basketball basket-ball team defeated the second ward team Wednesday night. Funeral services for Thomas Wm. Smith, a former resident of Farmington for 17 years were held in Ogden Monday. Wayne West was one of the speakers at the service. Mr. Smith was the owner of the Smith Cafe while living here. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Louisa Agren and Sarah Jean Brown of Ogden Og-den and a son Byron Smith of Sandy. Mr. Smith had been bedfast for the past four years. Burial was in Spanish Fork. The Literary Guild members were entertained Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. El-don El-don Dixon. Fern Hess and Fae Eccles gave a condensed version ver-sion of the musical, "My Fair Lady." The Reviewers Guild were guests of Mrs. Edith Spack-man Spack-man Wednesday evening. Gordon Van Fleet attended the funeral of his uncle Ezra Jensen, husband of Nina Van Flett Jensen in Ogden Saturday. FARMINGTON Mr. and Mrs. Reed Van Fleet and daughter Christine returned return-ed Tuesday from a trip to Lakewood, Calif. They visited Ruth's sister and husband, the i Udell Woods. Nedra Cardall and children visited Tuesday with her mother, moth-er, Lizzie Whitaker. Mrs. Carlos Clark (Mirinda) came home from the hospital Sunday. Ivy Wood is still in the hospital and her condition is about the ame as it has been for some time. John Ivan Hess and his son Lamar are both home from the hospital and seem to be improving. A boy was born last week to the Kenneth Kellers. The |
