Farmers State Umk 1 Sains $529,300 Farmers State Bank of Woods Cross, experienced a $529,300 gain in resources during dur-ing 1957, according 1o a report re-port made to the bank's board of directors by R. N. Sehluter, president. This .sizeable gain represented an increase of $487, 613 in deposits with more than 800 new savings accounts opined during the year. Farmer's State Bank now has total resources of 85,298,-404.72, 85,298,-404.72, Mr. Sehluter said. Contributing to the progress of Davis County, the bank made 240 real estate loans in 1957 - 200 of which were to finance the construction of new homes. 154 commercial loans were made. At the same meeting, an election of officers was held and R. N. Sehluter was again elected president, a position he has held since April, 1932. The directors praised Mr. Sehluter for the outstanding job he has done in guiding the affairs of the bank over the past 27 ivears. They noted that when iIr. Sehluter assumed management manage-ment of the bank, total assets were only $191,000 and the ltaft of the bank included Mr. jSchluter and Elizabeth Hatch i as assistant cashier. Today, the jbank employs 21 workers. In il051, the bank moved to their 'present location and by 195R !had to remodel and double 'their size to take care of the I growth and expansion. I Newell P. Parkin, vice president pres-ident and secretary, was advanced ad-vanced to assume the duties of ica.shicr, also. Mr. Parkin joined the bank in 1936 as a part-time ibasis and in March. 1945 be-came be-came a full-time employe. He is president of the Davis Coun-jty Coun-jty School Board, a member of the Davis County Recreation commtiltee, the Ambassador club and the Oak Ridge Country Coun-try club. Other officers re-elected were Glen A. Hatch, chairman of the board; Hal E. Fackrell, and LcRoy P. Parkin, assistant cashiers; Jane N. Cook, assistant assist-ant secretary.
