Show Safety Director Offers Some Worthy Suggestions A code of practices affecting the car owner, designed to promote safety, was announced by H. O. Rounds, head of the safety and traffic division of the Detroit Automobile club. Mr. Rounds suggested that the motorists remember remem-ber the following: That If you give anyone a lift do not expect pay for It and don't be surprised sur-prised if you lose your car or your valuables. That whatever attracts, detracts, or allures, one should never lose control of his car. That all roads are not smooth, but the same watchfulness Is required on good roads as on bad ones. That you will find people at cross purposes, but courteous treatment will decide the right of way. That when you pause, do not block some one. else. Give timely warning In anything you do that may affect others. That proper care of your machine Is necessary. Carelessness causes breakdowns. That all-night driving Is more difficult dif-ficult than driving in the light of day. That sometimes more power is required, re-quired, but also there are times when It Is necessary to apply the brakes. |
