Show Pangutich High School wrestlers eame out on top Thursday evening against Kanab with a 32-30 final vie- tory. Seems referees have almost a physical task as the wrestlers in properly scoring the two opponents. Panguitch Grapplers Defeat Kanab Team Panguitch High School wrestlers rolled on the mat to victory Thursday, 32-30, over Kanab to a cheering crowd of obviously pleased residents. This first match in the varsity playoffs lifted Bobcat fans' spirits beginning with Kerrie LeFevre's pinning the first man. Raymond Roundy followed suit winning his match by three points. Chuck Floyd also pinned his opponent, bringing the team score up to 15-0. David Nez lost his titty 4-0 followed by Danny Frandsen winning his 3-0. Kent Orton was defeated but Mike Kenmuir pinned his man bringing the Bobcat score up 24-10. David Orton pinned adding an additional six points to the Cat's score and when Glen Liston tied 8-8, both Panguitch and Kanab received another two points each. Chet Hailstone and Willie Riggs both lost matches thus bringing the Kanab Cowboys up in score for a time. Kanab additionally received points for a Panguitch forfeit; and the final outcome was 32-30 for Panguitch. During exhibition matches Todd Henrie won 7-1 and Troy Leach was defeated by two points. Panguitch has its first tournament coming up on Saturday against Milford. |
