Show Junior Version of Gem Group Youngsters 12 to 18 will have an opportunity to participate in a junior version of the Color Country Gem and Mineral Society by organizing their own club November 30 at 3:45 p.m. at Panguitch Middle School. Bill Niebel who started the adult gem and mineral group conducted a series of lectures at Garfield County schools in an effort to interest the young people in working with gems and minerals. Several expressed interest and even joined the adult organization, but Niebel said that they need their own organization. Monday's meeting will be held in the classroom of Earl Roe who has assisted Niebel in his attempt to Interest the youths in collecting. Officers will be elected for the new group and separate activities planned. The group will begin to edit a section of the monthly Color Country publication "Color Country Chips." |
