Show Panguitch High News By Penny Sherwood The Panguitch cheerleaders organized a beauty pageant for a pep assembly last week. Approximately 25 boys (or should I say girls), tried out for the title of Miss Panguitch High School, All the contestants were in some way involved in athletics. After the judges got a look at the "girls", tliey came up with the top ten. They Included Nathan Brinkerhoff , David Ipson, Lawrence Orton, Korry Soper, Donny Leach, Paul Hatch, Glenn Llston, Tod Trout, Mike Baldiwn and Ricky Robison. They were then each required to answer a question. After the questioning the studentbody had an opportunity to vote for the boy they thought made the prettiest girl. One quarter got the contestant one vote. Barry Erlckson provided the entertainment for the spectacular event as he sang to the 25 lovelies as students tallied the votes. Mike Baldwin received first attendant with Donny Leach taking second attendant and Tod Trout was crowned Miss Panguitch High School for the year 1981-82. In sports, the Cats came out on top again taking first at the four team basketball tournament in Beaver. Friday Panguitch defeated Milford 50-39. The quarter scores were 9-6 in the first quarter, and 11-9 in the second quarter, Halftime score was 20-15. The score in the third quarter 12 15-6 and in the fourth, Milford had 18 and Panguitch down to 15. High scorers for this game were Mike Baldwin Paul Hatch and Tod Trout. Panguitch went on to beat Beaver in the championship game Saturday. During the first quarter Panguitch had ''Jh'e leadfylHowever, in the second quarter, Beaver gained the lead, making the score at halftime 21-22. The 'Cats' were ahead for the remainder of the game scoring 23 points in both the third and fourth quarters. The Beavers scored 15 in the third and 21 in the fourth. Panguitch had a total of 11 team fouls. Beaver had 0. The high scorers Saturday night were Donny Leach, Tod Trout and Dale Orton. |
