Show Local Couple United In Lovely Home Rites CAMP AARON JOHNSON D. U. P. ENTERTAINED at a surprise social at the close of their regular meeting Thursday afternoon at Relic Hall, honoring Mrs. Josie Alleman upon her retirement re-tirement as captain of the camp following four years of service. The entertainment featured a luncheon served at one long table, with covers arranged for 32 members mem-bers and guests. During the luncheon, lunch-eon, Mrs. Jessie Dalton sang "Springvlile, City of Our Dreams," and Mrs. Ada Jessee gave a beautiful beau-tiful tribute to Mrs. Alleman, written by Mrs. Eva Crandall. The guest of honor was . presented pre-sented with a lovely potted plant in appreciation of her splendid services in the camp. Mrs. Mary Hatch, newly elected captain, was in charge of arrangements. THE BASKETBALL BOYS WERE ENTERTAINED at a dinner by Mr. and Mrs. Arch Cameron at their home on Monday evening. The team during the dinner, din-ner, which has become an annual affair with Mr. and Mrs. Cameron, Camer-on, elected Paul Hansen, junior, of Mapleton, captain of the team for next year. Besides the newly elected captain, cap-tain, others attending were Lyman Rothwell, retiring captain, Paul Eggertsen, Blaine Johnson, Glen Clark, Ray Clark, Robert Sumsion, Sum-sion, Melvin Teasdale, Calvin Fin-ley, Fin-ley, Dick Miner, Dean Mason, Lee Olsen and Kay Weight, team managers, man-agers, and Art Hughes and Art Gilbert, coaches. Among the lovely spring weddings wed-dings was that of Miss Donna Casaday, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Wareham. and Robert Huntington, Hun-tington, son of Mrs. Wilda Dow-dell, Dow-dell, which took place on Monday evening at the home of the bride's parents. The ceremony was performed by A. G. Peterson, bishop of the First ward, in the presence of near relatives rel-atives and close friends. The bride was charming in a white taffeta wedding gown with fingertip veil and corsage of gardenias gar-denias and rosebuds. Following the ceremony the couple were honored with an informal infor-mal reception and a number of relatives and friends called. The newlyweds left after the reception re-ception for a few days visit in Salt Lake City, and upon their return re-turn will make their home in Springville. Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Casaday, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Higgins, Winifred Johnson, LaRue Mower, Mcrvvyn Speth, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Williams, Wil-liams, Elna Averett, Marie Teas-dale, Teas-dale, Wilford Teasdale, Maurine Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haymond, LaVern Beardall, and Ronda Jenkins. Mrs. N. E. Whitmore and Mrs. M. F. Miner returned recently from a week's visit in St. George, where they visited with Mrs. Ro-ana Ro-ana Bundy and also did work in the temple. Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Thorn returned re-turned Saturday from Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., where they had spent the past three months. They plan to make their home in Springville. |
