Show Educational Round-Up Opens Here February 19 Monday and Tuesday, February l'1 and HO, will bo a banner iliiy in tho Gunnison Valley and at this time a' "round-up1" of tho farmers, house- ' vivos and educators of tho on tire val-' ley will bo hold at tho Gunnison Val-' loy high school. Elaborate plans are being shaped for tho event .and the convention promises to bo one of prominence pro-minence from every standpoint. The! convention is being sponcorod by the farm bureaus and tho faculty of the various school and arrangements have been made whereby eminent speakers fiom Salt Lake City will be here for the purpose of discussing various farm projects, education und domestic science. Those scheduled to be present nt the convention are Prof. John T. Crane III, Mrs. C. B. Clayton, food specialist; Miss Catherne Adams, district home demonstration agent; Prof. Byron Alder, poultry specialist; Miss Rozir.a Skidmore. clothing specialist. spe-cialist. The "round-up" will be held both nt Gunnison and Manti and the speakers that are to be at Manti on Monday will be here Tuesday and those that participate here Monday will go to Manti 0:1 Tuesday. i The convention will open in the Gunnison Valley high school Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Prof. Cair.e will deliver a lecture to tho farmers.1 At the same time at another mooting Mrs. Clayton and Mirs Adams will meet the ladies. At the afternoon meeting, which starts at 2 o'clock, Prof. Caine will' give a judging demonstration at the cattle corrals. Beef cattle,, horses, dairy cattle, sheep and perhaps hogs, will be judged. Prof. Caine will give strong emphasis on how to judge good stock from bad stock. The ladies meeting for Monday afternoon will bo hold at tho high school auditorium and demonstration will bo given by Mrs. Clayton and Miss Adams. Monday evening Prof. Caine will give an educational talk. This .session is open to every resident of tho valley and it is urgently requested that everbody, particularly the adult ladies and gentlemen, attend this lecture. Tho lecture will start at 7;li0 promt. Tuesday's opening program at 10 o'clock will consist of a lecture on the care and management of baby chicks by Prof, Byron Alder. Prof. Alder is conceded as one of the best in the west in this department and his lecture lec-ture will prove highly beneficial here as many are launching into the poultry poul-try business., During Prof. Alder's! lecture tho ladies will bo entertained hy Miss Skidmore. Tuesday afternoon Prof. Alder will give a detailed lecture on turkey raising and the care and feeding of mature flocks. Miss Skidmore will moot with the ladies and give a donio. stration and lecture on clothing. No. definnite plans have as yet been made for a meeting Tuesday night. The "round-up" to bo held here gives promise of being largely attended attend-ed and is sure to provo of exceptional value to dairymen, poultrymon, live stock men, and all others interested in any of the subjects that will be treated by the speakers who will he here. All farmers and housewives will be welcome to all tho meetings and 1; is to be hoped that cooperation will bo pronounced in the reception of the visitors. All the speakers scheduled to take part at the "round-up" nn among the very be t in the west, and the various topics to he taken up wil; prove highly interesting, educational and beneficial.
