Webb, attorney general of the state. The general practice is for a senator-elect senator-elect to take the oath of office March 4 of the year following his election, but this is not necessary, according to Mr. Webb. He can wait until the following! December, when congress convenes, it', he prefers to do so, unless a special ses- i sion of congress is called in the mean-; time.
