Show St. George Stake Union Meeting Held Here On Sunday, November 19 St. George stake Union meeting for November was held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, with tee various vari-ous departments reporting a good attendance from practically all wards of the stake. The Relief Society met in the basement of the stake tabernacle with Mrs. Marion M. Snow, president, presi-dent, in charge. Following the general program adjournment was taken for departmental work, at the conclusion of which the stake Relief Society presidency and board along with the various ward presidents met with the bishops and directors for their welfare work meeting in the South Ward chapel. The Children's Primary Department Depart-ment held their session in t he Elementary Ele-mentary School building reporting an attendance of 63 members with the majority of wards represented. The teachers topic was LT'ven by Mrs. Margaret P,ryner and twil-ance twil-ance of the time was devnt"d to practice of Chri-tmas sint'ing. The stake missionaries me' under un-der direction of Stake President 1 G. Carlyle Thompson. Following preliminary program of sinking. led by M. L. McAllister. The priesthood sessions were held in the South Ward chapel and are reported as having been well attended. The stake Sunday school sessions ses-sions under direction of Supt. Willis R. Dunkley were held in the South Ward chapel. The M. I. A. organizations did not hold meetings on Sunday having hav-ing had their November Union meeting earlier in the month. Miss Jean Cannon left last Saturday Sat-urday for Salt Lake City where she will attend the birthday anniversary an-niversary celebration for her grandfather, Pres. Heber J. Grant, and will remain for Thanksgiving vacation. Miss Virginia Prince left Wednesday Wed-nesday noon for Los Angeles where she will spend the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving week-end with Dr. and Mrs. Milton Cottam. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker left last Saturday for Salt Lake City and will spend Thanksgiving vacation in Delta before returning to St. George. Their son, Junior, plans to join them Wednesday. Mary Farris left Wednesday for her home in Hinckley for the Thanksgiving vacation. Mrs. Minnie Paxman and son Lynn of El Segundo, Calif., have been visiting relatives in St. George and Washington for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Fullerton announce the marriage of their daughter, Wrae, to Dell Foccol November 16 in Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. James S. Jones returned Friday from spending two weeks in Bunkerville, Nev. Clell Black and Chester Adams left Wednesday for Kanab to visit over Thanksgiving. |
