Show Dixie College News The Hurricane senior class presented pre-sented the comedy, "Kempy", Monday night at the college auditorium, audi-torium, before a large crowd of students and townspeople. The play was well cast, and greatly enjoyed. The same group presented pre-sented a stream-lined version of Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors" Er-rors" in assembly Wednesday. The group is directed by Karl Larson and Eleanor Nicholes. Coach Hafen issued his first call to high school basketeers last week. Eighteen boys responded. About a dozen more will turn out at the close of the football season this week. The three latest additions to the Future Teachers club are Don Findlay, Kanab; Mae Pate, Enterprise; En-terprise; and Marjorie Rust, Glen-dale. Glen-dale. President Snow is leaving Friday Fri-day to attend a special meeting with the legislative Committee of Fifteen, appointed to investigate higher education in Utah. President Presi-dent Snow, and President Dixon of Weber will represent the junior colleges. President Snow last week attended at-tended a meeting of the Southern Utah principals in Fillmore, and he and Mr. Bentley met with the state committee of curriculum coordination co-ordination in higher and secondary education later in the week. The college faculty enjoyed its monthly party at the Science building Monday night. After enjoying en-joying a delicious lunch, they moved to the Gaiety theatre in a body to attend the picture show. A. K. Hafen is leaving today for Los Angeles to represent Utah at a regional meeting of modern language instructors. The heating plant at the college col-lege is now completed. Mr. Court-wright Court-wright made the final inspection last week. Pearson Corbett was in Salt Lake City last . week attending the funeral of his brother, George Corbett. ' President Snow has recently , been named a member of the tax-lation tax-lation committee of the Utah Educational Ed-ucational association. |
