Show Why Rush ? There is a very old saying "the shortest way home is the longest way around". In other words rushing in traffic often results in long delays, sometimes serious accidents. Often we save a second or two at the risk of our own or some one else's life. Let's be reasonable, courteous, think of others, and by all means try to obey every traffic regulation. It has been proven through statistics that the majority of accidents occur due to haste, lack of thought, or pure negligence. Very few of our good citizens are wilfully negligent, yet in the long run, the average man is responsible for the majority of our traffic accidents. They are average, think, and act as we do, and still one lapse, a careless minute results in a terrible catastrophy, resulting sometimes in death and injury. Mechanical failure today is very rare. Factory engineers have spent millions of their firm's money to perfect various safety features on the respective cars they manufacture. In fact, less than 1 per cent of the accident death toll is due to car failure. Ninety-nine Ninety-nine per cent of our accidents can be charged directly to human failure., In other words the driver is usually to blame. Let's ask ourselves why. It results in the same answer: "I didn't see you", or "I didn't hear you". One of the two must be to blame or both. We can all avoid trouble by being careful and courteous. |
