Show Simply Being a Member Not Ground For Deportation of Aliens. LABOR SECRETARY'S DECISION DEPLORED Claim Undesirables Could Enter En-ter Party and Be Free From Government Action. WASHINGTON, May 5. Secretary of Labor Wilson ruled today that membership mem-bership in the communist labor party docs not of itself constitute sufficient ground for deportation of aliens. In ordering cancellation of a warrant war-rant under which Carl Miller, a German, Ger-man, was held because of such membership, mem-bership, the secretary declared that while extracts from the organization's platform indicated an extremoly radical radi-cal objective there was no evidence of Intention to use force or violence to ward organized government. The department of justice frankly deplored tho labor secretary's decision, Assistant Attorney General'Garvan asserting as-serting that because of it all undesir- ablo aliens could enter tho fold of the communist party and bo free from government gov-ernment interference.
