Show PRIVY COUNCILLOR OF JAPAN IS DEAD HONOLULU. May 6. Viscount M. Sugi, privy councillor, died today, aged SO, according to a Tokio cablegram cable-gram today to the Japanese newspaper newspa-per Nuppi Jiji. i Magoshichiro Sugi, who, since 1S97, has been privy councillor of the Japanese Jap-anese empire, was born January 1835 and was descended from an ancient Samuri clan. In 1862 he was sent to Europe as an attache to the minister sent there by the Shogunate government govern-ment He took an active part in the restoration movement and later was made lord steward of the empress dowager's dow-ager's household.
