Show I WHY THE UNREST? A well-informed dealer in wheat and manufacturer of flour predicts pre-dicts a price of $3 for wheat at the Ogden elevators, which will hriug the price of flour up to $15 to $18 per hundred. No wonder workingmen are discontented and restless with shoes at $10, potatoes at S cents a pound, sugar at 28 cents and flour trying to reach the same level. Bive years ago, when day laborers received $3 a day, shoes could be bought at $3.50 a pair, potatoes at a cent a pound, sugar at 5 centra pound and flour at less than $1 a sack. The prices are from I hree to eiffht times higher. Wages have not doubled. |
