Show GILES BREAKS FIVE-HUE FIVE-HUE IBS RECORD Largest Crowd of the Season at Elks' Bicycle Meet at GlemYood. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Aug. 20. By far thc biggest crowd of tho season attended the bicycle races at the Glen wood saucer track this evening, which were held under thc auspices of thc local lodgo of Elks. Through the courtesy of the management of thc Saltair track, Henry Muyer and A. ,1. Clarke were allowed to participate In the programme. Parley Giles added another record to his list when ho rode five miles unpaccd In 11:00 fiat, beating tho world's record, held by O. L. Hackenbcrger of Denver, by i"( 4-B seconds. When he had completed the distance ho was loudly applauded from tin- grand stand. In the Elks' special one-mllo handicap, professional, Walter DoMara, rifling at yo jards handicap, crossed the tape first, with W. L. Mitten a close second. Ciarke, riding from the scratch, Mayer, McFar-land McFar-land and Downing each pulled tho other in an effort to overcome the handicap, but when thc last lap was reached Mayer sprinted in nn atlempi to overtake tho others, but thc distance between theni was too great for him to even finish close. In the two-mile open lap, professional, Wilcox and W. Palmer came together on th last lap and sustained a nasty tiplll. Neither was seriously hurt, but Palmer's left hand was badly cut with slivers.
