Show BRYAN WILL BE BUSY IN DES MOINES TODAY DES MOINES. Ia., Aug. 20. A busv day has been planned for William .1. Bryan in Dcs Moines tomorrow, and it is fully expected that he will have greeted fully fifteeu thousand people before be-fore tho day ends. He will arrive in the morning at 7:30 o'clock on the Rock Island, and immediately will breakfast with prominent Democrats as the micst of Mavor A. J. Mathis of Dos Moines. There will bo an automobile tour of tho citv before noon, and after luncheon a conference with Democratic leaders of Iowa for the discussion of general campaign cam-paign plans. From -1 to (5 p. m. a public reception will be held at the Savoy hotel ho-tel and at 7 o'clock a parade of the local lo-cal Bryan clubs will be held, preceding the speeches. Two mass meetings will bo held. The main meeting will be in the ball park, where Mr. Bryan will speak in the open air: an overflow will bo hold in the auditorium, which will bo addressed by Claude R. Porter, candidate .for United States Senator; Fred E. White, candidate for governor; National Committeeman J. W. Woods and others. Mr. Bryan is expected io speak briefly in the auditorium, bur. his main address, which is to be a discussion discus-sion of tho tariff, will bo at the ball park, Tt is believed that the rallv will be tho largest ever held by the Democrats in Iowa. Thousands of out-of-town visitors are expected, cut rates being in force on each of the Stato railroads. |
