Show S.L. --Phoenix Air Service Permit Sought Scenic Flights and Regular Trips Proposed Through Sanpete Valley Application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to establish es-tablish a new airline between Salt Lake City and Phoenix, Ariz, was filed with the C A A in Washington, D. C. Monday by a group of Salt Lake City men. The application was filed on oenalf ot the Scenic America lines, which at present is an association, as-sociation, but which will be converted con-verted into a corporation if the application is granted. Delbert M. Draper, attorney and chairman of the applicant group, said a daily flight each way was contemplated and that stops would be made at several intermediate points in Utah and Arizona. Others who signed the application were J. E. Garn, former for-mer director of the Utah aeronautics aero-nautics commission; Dan B. Shields, U. S. district attorney'; Dr. Glen R. Anderson; B. H. Roo-inson, Roo-inson, member of the state tax commission; Lee B. Browning and Lyle B. Nicholes. The application seeks permission per-mission to establish the regularly regular-ly scheduled line between Salt Lake City and Phoenix to carry property, mail and passengers, and in addition to operate specially chartered scenic flights to any points south of Salt Lake City not already covered by other air lines. Intermediate stops, Mr. Draper said, would be made at Provo, Mt. Pleasant, Richfield, Bryce Canyon, South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Prescott, Arizona, and Phoenix. |
