Show I fairView i ! By Special Correspondence Mr. and Mrs. Charles Briggs announce the engagement of their daughter, Verna to Leslie C. Coombs of Fairview, son oi Mrs. Ellis D. Combs, the marriage mar-riage will take place December 18th in the Manti Temple during ;he evening session. President R. D. Young will officiate. Mr. Coombs has filled a mission in France and will graduate from the University of Utah in 1940. The D. U. P. North Bend camp held their December meeting Wednesday at the city hall. Mrs. Ethel Mower gave the lesson on Pioneer Christmas. Mrs. Vilate Sorenson read the History of her father, P. O. Hansen. Several musical numbers were given. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to about 20 guests. The ladies auxiliary of the American Legion sent five members mem-bers to the coinvention at Manti Thursday. President Margaret Felt, Mrs. Floyd Young, Mrs. Vera Brady, Mrs. Elva Hamilton and Mrs. Erba Rasmussen were the committee who attended. Mrs. Elinor Nelson of Logan was the visiting speaker. The regular Christmas opening program was given at Fairview Monday evening. The band and school children gave a parade Santa Clause was present and made a speech. The business men gave a free picture show to the children in the afternoon and one for the adults in the evening. Christmas decorations are all up and the Christmas spirit seems to prevail. |
