Show I MORONI j 1 By Special Correspondence I Mrs. Lloyd Blackham returned home from Salt Lake City, Saturday. Sat-urday. She has been taking care of her sister who was ill at her home there. Mrs. Roy Story, Mrs. N P Sorensen, Mrs. Blain Draper and Mrs. Joseph Prestwich entertained entertain-ed the Sorosis club members and i heir husbands at a rook party Wednesday evening at the home of the latter. Dinner was served to twenty-five guests after which, tour games of progressive Rook was played. Mrs. Leo 'Morley and Joseph Prestwich won high prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Anderson And-erson received consolation prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Mardell Garric of Nevada announce the birth of a baby girl at the Dice hospital. It is the first grand child of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Dairs of Chester. There are six elderly people in Moroni that are seriously ill at their homes, Mrs. Ellen Morley, Mrs. Artimesa Anderson, Mrs. Helena Olsen, Mrs. Sarah Jane Dairs, James Syme and David Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy of Sprmgville visited in Moroni Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hansen and family of Santiquin and Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Aagard of Nephi visited Sunday at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hansen. The M. I. A. of both wards held conjount session in the East ward chapel Sunday evening. Mrs. L. O. Larsen of Spring City visited last Tuesday with her daughters, Mrs. Milton Arnoldson and Mrs. Urwin Morley. The program in the East ward sacrament meeting Sunday December De-cember 10 is to be given by returned re-turned missionaries from Nephi. The East ward Relief Society are making plans for a Bazar to De held in the ward chapel December De-cember 18. The Sew Art club was entertained enter-tained at the home of Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond Christensen Thursday evening. The time was spent sewing. Refreshments were served. serv-ed. Mrs. John Peterson and Mrs. Floyd Draper of Spring City visited relatives in Moroni Monday. Mon-day. Funeral For John A. Draper Funeral services for John Allen Draper were held in the East ward chapel Monday with Bishop Morgan Lamb officiating. The choir sang, "Beautiful Isle," with Mrs. Elmo L. Irons, soloist, i tt a i - i J nr ana ADiae wiui me. Ralph Anderson and Andrew L. Bradley offered the prayers. Vocal solo, "My Task," was given by Victor Rasmussen accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Blain Draper. A musical reading was given by Mrs. Cleophia Christensen accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Earl Black-nam. Black-nam. The speakers were Elden West-enscow, West-enscow, Ephraim Nelson, Elmo L. Irons and Bishop Lamb. The grave was dedicated by Mr. Ursenbach. John Allen Draper, 16, a student stu-dent of the Moroni high school, died Friday, after a long illness irom heart and kidney complications. complica-tions. He was born in Moroni, July 18, 1923 a son of John C. and Beatrice Dibble Draper. Surviving are his parents, three sisters and three brothers; Rosella, Lois, Irene, Leslie, Pheml and Garry Draper all of Moroni. |
