Show T.J. Burnside Passes Away Thomas J. Burnside. 73. pioneer ' churchman of Mountainville, died at the family home late Wednesday Wednes-day evening, after a lingering illness. ill-ness. Mr. Burnside was born in Pennsylvania, Penn-sylvania, September 15, 1866. a son of John Mason and Elizabeth Prentice Burnside. He came to Utah with his parents as a child and had spent almost his entire life at Mountainville just north east of Mt. Pleasant, where he engaged in farming and stock raising. He was an active L. D. S. church worker and had held various offices in the auxiliary organizations of the church. He married Mary Jane Spens m the Manti L. D. S. temple in 1891. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Mower of Spring Canyon; eight sons, Roy Burnside of Sacramento, California; Cal-ifornia; Earl, Mitchell and Clyde Burnside of Kenilworth, Robert Burnside of Burley, Idaho; Mason, Leonard and Harry Burnside of Mt. Pleasant, and 40 grandchildren; grandchild-ren; a brother, A. L. Burnside o Driggs. Idaho, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Spens of Burlington Wyo. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted by Bishop Henry P. Olson at 2 p. m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant North ward L. D. S. chapel. Friends may call at the family home in Mountainville Saturday from 10 a. m. until time of serviced. ser-viced. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant city cemetery, directed by Jacobs mortuary. |
