Show Csunfv Schedules Meet if To View ater Proposal Grand County's Commissioners Commis-sioners passed a resolution Monday to show the intent of the Commission to create a Spanish Valley Water Improvement Im-provement District. The district was proposed Jor reasons of the public health and a public meeting will be held Oct. 14 to hear protests to and support of tills proposal. If all questions ques-tions raised at the meeting are resolved, the next step would be to actually create the District. After the district is formed, form-ed, a permanent committee for the unit will have to be organized and this committee commit-tee will have to see that the district acquires water and constructs systems of distribution distri-bution and provides services to the people who will ba involved as well as deciding some method of financing the measure. The district will supply w:i- ter to those areas ' in this valley that the city .can't service or supply water to, according to City Engineer John Keogh. The boundaries of this newly formed district will roughly be on both sides of Highway 160 south to the rodeo ro-deo grounds and east to about ab-out the golf course, north to a line near the Dick Horst-mann Horst-mann residence. The committee already (formed to do preliminary work on the project anticipates antici-pates that the water line will begin near Ken Allred's where the pumps will be located. lo-cated. Water will be stored .in a 150,000 gallon reserveir east of the rodeo grounds, .and will provide water for about eight miles of pipe. This line will serve about 125 families but could eventually even-tually service up to three hundred homes for culinary use only. |
