Show Few Committed as Yet For City Election With four offices open for election this year, only two incumbents have announced their . intentions to seek reelection. re-election. The office of City Judge was one of those four posts-open, posts-open, but any interested candidates can-didates should have filed a petition for the office by July 1. Judge Donald Crist was the only one who filed and he will be unopposed. The Judge has served one full term of six years and a partial term of two years. The post of Mayor is up for grabs, and Mayor Win-ford Win-ford Bunce announced that he has made no definite decision de-cision about running for the office again. Official filing dates do not begin for about two weeks with the first date for accepting applications applica-tions being Oct. 6. One of the two councilmen whose office expires this year is definitely going to run, and this is Police Commissioner Com-missioner Jack West The other councilman whose term expires this year, Tom Stocks, feels he should wait until filing time before announcing an-nouncing his decision. Bo'ih Council openings will be for four year terms. There are now just over 1,930 citizens who are registered regis-tered to vote in the municipal munici-pal -election. The first scheduled sched-uled date for additional registration reg-istration will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, with the other scheduled sched-uled days on the following two Tuesdays, Oct. 21 and 28. |
