Show UTAH EGGS ARE POPULAR IN EAST Utah's famed Milk White eggs are again reaching the New York market, but "we can't even come close to meeting the demand for them," according to Clyde Edmonds, Ed-monds, general manager of the Utah Poultry and Farmers' Cooperative, Co-operative, who has just returned from New York and an extended tour of the east. The famed white eggs were a favorite iri New York before the war. But in 1942 the heavy demands de-mands by the Army and the local market made it impossible to ship the Milk White eggs east. What eggs were produced in Utah and southern Idaho that were not sold locally were shipped to the coast. After the war intermittent shipments ship-ments were sent to New York, but not until the first of this year was it possible for Utah Poultry to make regular deliveries. "Now", explained Mr. Edmonds, "we are sending a car or two weekly, but it's just a token supply for the demand. Fine eggs are scarce. We could market almost unlimited unlimit-ed amounts. There is room for substantial development in production produc-tion here in Utah where conditions are so conducive and favorable for the poultry production." |
