Show Round-ii" About Town . . Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Frans-g-aard and daughter Kristin of Long Beach, California, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Merritt and family. The Fransgaards were met at Las Vegas, Nevada by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Curtis. They visited Boulder Dam and other points of interest at Las Vegas and also went through the Parks in Southern South-ern Utah. Mrs. Fransgaard is the former Melba Merritt. Mrs. J. M. Sumsion accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Belle W. Childs and Miss Joan Blackett visited last week at Elko, Nev. at the J. M. Sumsion Construction camp, also with Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cher-rington, Cher-rington, who are employed there. Mrs. Agnes Eismann of San Francisco, Calif., a former resident resi-dent of , Springville, is spending a few days vacation with friends here. During her stay in Springville, Spring-ville, Mrs. Eismann is being extensively ex-tensively entertained at various dinner parties and social gatherings. gather-ings. She was a linotype operator at the Herald office before going to San Francisco, where she is employed in the same work. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Best visited recently at Salina for a week and also spent one day at Fish Lake. Their daughters, Jane and Joan spent the time with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Straw and family at Edge-mont Edge-mont and another daughter, Mary visited an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Walker and family in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lester E. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Davis spent Sunday at Fillmore visiting with a nephew, Llewellyn Banks and family. Mr. Banks is employed employ-ed as instructor at the high school at Filhnore. A large number of Springville relatives and friends were in Salt Lake City Wednesday to bid farewell fare-well to five Springville missionaries mission-aries who left for their respective fields of labor. Leaving were: Farlin Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Wood; Owen Sumsion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen W. Sumsion, Elner Hall; Robert Dalton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Dalton and Glen Alleman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Alleman. Mr and Mrs. Grover Clyde, accompanied ac-companied by their daughters, Mary and Helen of Milwaukee, Wis., are spending a month in Utah and expect to go on to California for a short visit. The daughters are enrolled at the B.Y.U. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hawkins of Long Beach, Calif., have returned to their home after a two-weeks vacation spent in Utah. They were guests of Mrs. Hawkins' brother, Abe Ulock and family at Springville and also visited relatives re-latives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Hopla and son left recently for Lawrence,-Kansas, Lawrence,-Kansas, where Mr. Hopla will Continue his studies at the University Uni-versity of Kansas. |
