Show Football Festival Tonight At BYLL Stadium All Region Three Teams And Bands To Parade and Participate In Big Grid Opening Game Of Season Teams in Region Three will pry the lid off the football season Thursday night with one of the four scheduled opening open-ing round games to be played at the B.Y.U. stadium. ' The regional football festival begins at 7:30 ,?.m. with every school band represented, including Juab and Tintic high schools. These bands will parade, along with the teams of the participating participat-ing schools, prior to the drawing for the game to be played. Following the parade the eight teams will line up in the center of the field while region -3 officials offic-ials conduct a drawing to determine deter-mine the two teams that will play. Pairings for the first round include B. Y. High at Lincoln, American Fork at Payson, Spanish Span-ish Fork at Lehi and SpringvilIe "at Pleasant Grove. All of - the other games Will be played Friday, Fri-day, Sept. 24. Competition throughout the region re-gion looks plenty tough this year. Lincoln, which is a perennial title threat, is back with another strong outfit as are both B. Y. High and American Fork. In the southern end, it looks like Payson and Spanish Fork have usurped all the power-laden material and should give the northern outfits plenty of stiff opposition. SpringvilIe Spring-vilIe has a greenling squad that should come in for several upset games during the season. "Oh, Oh, My Gun's Jammed!" Both American .borit ana j-.em have beaten Moab. B. Y. and Payson have won handily over North Sanpete, while Lincoln and American Fork have won over Wasatch Academy. Spanish Fork sounded out a strong warning with a win over Delta and Spring-vilje Spring-vilje snowed potential strength defeating de-feating Milliard. Plenty of fast, hard-fought football is in the offing, beginning tonight, in Region Re-gion Three. Devils Defeat Millard . . . Coming back from a stinging defeat at the hands of Provo the previous week, the Red Devils turned in a win at Fillmore last Friday afternoon by a slim 7-6 margin. Springville's score came in the second . period, where they held the lead up to the third quarter, when fullback McKee returned a punt 55 yards to score for the losers. Both teams battled up and down the field for the remainder re-mainder of the game with neither neith-er team able to push across another an-other touchdown.
