Show State Road Commission Lets Contract For Hew Delta- Hinckley Bridge Oyer Sevier River: Plan 9 Miles of Oiled Road Layton Maxfield called Wednesday Wednes-day morning from the state road commission in Salt Lake City saying say-ing that the contract for a new bridge over the Sevier river between be-tween Delta and Hinckley had been let to Bothers Brothers. The contract was for $45,911.60. Work Is scheduled to commence within 30 days from now and completion com-pletion of the bridge will be before fall. New aproaches will be made and the new road and bridge will be aligned with the newly constructed con-structed bridge over the Deseret canal to the west. The contract for the bridge at Rocky Ford has been approved by the state road commission, but is awaiting approval from Washington Washing-ton before definite action will be taken. Additional work will be done in the Hinckley area this year as S150,WXI was appropriated tor that area and after the contract for the bridge is completed there will be approximately $105,000 remaining for construction work there. The 9 miles of un-oiled road between be-tween Delta and Eureka Is to be completed during the latter part of the summer which will make a continuous oiled road from Salt Lake City to Hinckley. The bridges and oiling are for the benefit of Highway 6 and as more money is appropriated more of the highway will be completed each year. |
