Show Hinckley ... Mrs. Harriot Spendlove A shower, honoring Miss Kathleen Skeeni, was given by Mrs. Carol Bishop on Monday, May 27. The evening was spent in making a bride's book. Mrs. Helen Shurtliff entertained , at a Rook Party on Monday night. . She featured scarce items in refreshments re-freshments and her prizes, serving serv-ing salmon loaf with her main dish, and banana cream cake as a desert. Her prizes consisted of a pound of butter as first, given to ' Thora Petersen, a bag of pancake flour as second, awarded to Phyl- 't lis Bennett and as low prize, given giv-en to Valeda Hilton, she parted with a roll of tissue paper. Other ' guests present were: Arvilla Swen-sen, Swen-sen, Bertha Love, Melba Nielson, Julia F. Bliss, Beulah Black, Ruth Talbot, Erma Cropper, Harriet , Spendlove, Nina Mecham, Maxine 1 Finlinson, Dana Bishop, Cree Palmer, Pal-mer, Arvilla Workman, May Cropper, Crop-per, Belva Morris, Ruth Robinson, and Manon Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Aroet Taylor had as their guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Steadman of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Warren of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Anderson visited last week in Sterling. They entertained at a supper last Saturday Sat-urday night at their home with Beatrice Taylor, Melvin Hepworth, Rachel Knight and Lawrence Spar as their guests. They went to the movies after supper was served. Glenda Cropper, Carol Moody and Ruth Petersen spent four days last week visiting in Salt Lake City with Merodean ePtersen. Merodean then spent Saturday and Sunday in Hinckley at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Meron Petersen. Peter-sen. Gail Taylor visited last week with her mother, Mrs. Mary Taylor. She had as her guest on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Don Love of Salt Lake City. Wayne Humphries drove to Salt Lake Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Petreson and Mr. and Mrs. Meron Petersen, their trip be-jing be-jing marie to take Mrs. Raymond Peterson to the hospital for medical medi-cal treatment. John Taylor is spending this week in Salt Lake City. Mary Terry Argill, daughter of George Terry, who was one of the early settlers of Hinckley, was here for Memorial Day. Her husband, daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren were also here. Other Memorial Day visitors included: in-cluded: Mrs. Jane Pratt and children, child-ren, Claude of Logan and Grace & Ansel of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Wright of Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Wright of Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie (Ted) Bennett, Mr. and Mrs.'lanthus Wright and family fam-ily of Cedar City. Mrs. Mary Bishop is visiting with Blaine Robinson. Mrs. Hilda Wright is visited now by her sister, Pearl, of Hill Field. Visiting now yith Mrs. Mary Lee are her granddaughter, Ruth and her grandson, children of' Layfay-ette Layfay-ette C. Lee, of Salt Lake City. Mildred Jacobsen visited last week with her mother, Mrs. Sarah Slaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Max Bliss and Mr. and Mrs. Ingles Bliss visited last week with their brother, Ferron, and other relatives here. The presidency of the YMMIA and the YLMIA have been reorganized. reor-ganized. George Ekins has been chosen as the young men's president presi-dent and he has not as yet selected selec-ted his counselors. He replaces the former president, Cluff Talbot, whose counselors were Richard Shurtliff and Blaine Spendlove. Mr. Ekins was the former secretary. In the YLMIA Bertha Love has been made president with Helen Shurtliff and Dana Bishop as counselors coun-selors and Julia Bliss as secretary. The outgoing officers are : DeLoise Robins, with Helen Shurtliff and Bertha Love as counselors and Berniece Hepworth as secretary. The Hinckley Garden Club met last Thursday night at the Seminary Sem-inary building. They sold gladioli bulbs to members of the club. An interesting program was given which was valuable to all who attended at-tended in helping them with the culture of their flower gardens. Miss Grace Hepworth is now visiting vis-iting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hepworth. New stocks men's dress straw hats for the head of the family. A nice gift for Father's Day.
