Show Hatch Happenings By Velma Huntington 735-4231 A large percent of our ward members attended Panguitch LDS Stake Conference Saturday and Sunday. Tuesday after school the Primary held a Halloween party for the children in the cultural hall and in the evening the MIA held a Halloween party and movie for teenage and adult members. Mr. and Mrs. Darol Allred sold their home in Odessa, Tex. and arrived here to visit Velma Huntington, Delores Allred and Jody Allred. The Allreds and Velma Huntington visited the Fred Houstons in Beaver. Hope Dalton, Velma Huntington and Gai Wilcock visited the Wayne Stubbs in Parowan. Hope brought Tyler Stubbs here to visit this week. The Grant Daltons and Tyler Stubbs went to Kanab to enjoy dinner at the Gib Clarks and attend church with them as Travis Clark was ordained a deacon in the LDS Aaronic Priesthood. Carla Sawyer attended an EMT workshop in Salt Lake City for several days. On Sunday she went to Hurricane to get son Lance where he had been visiting with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Humpheries. Verda Sawyer went to Kanab to stay with the Vay Sawyers while Velta attends a special school for five weeks near Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Heap went to St. George to check with their doctor. Then Garth attended sessions in the St. George LDS Temple. Others from here attending the temple were E. F. Turek, Dallas Barnhurst, Karl Lowder, Bob Evans, Calvin Wilson, Craig Barney and Mr. and Mrs. Nile Sawyer. Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Turek checked with his doctor in Cedar City and visited Davis Winn. Earlier in the week David Winn, Cedar City and Donna Cooper, Whittler, Calif, had visited with the Tureks here. The Coral Coles, Nev. visited most of the week with the Alvin Wilhelms, then Shirley Wilhelm, Monica Wilhelm and Shelly Burrows took them to Cedar City to meet Joe Cole who was to take them home. Bert Barnhurst, Cedar City visited Maggie Barnhurst and enjoyed the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Max Burrows, Fredonia, Ariz, visited the Karl Lowders. Sarah Lou Sudweeks, Tropic held a kitchenware party at Reva Lowders. Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Sawyer and Eric Middleton, Panguitch and Jeff Sawyer, Eric Sawyer and the Kent Sawyers, Cedar City visited the David Sawyers over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. David Sawyer took Jeff Sawyer and Eric Sawyer back to Cedar City. While there they visited family and friends. ValDean Deuel and Laretta Crofts took first and second prize respectively for the best Halloween costumes at the Halloween dance Saturday night at the Riverside Campground. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Wilcock, Panguitch visited in town. Orlas Riggs Is recuperating at home after spending several days at Garfield Memorial Hospital. On Nov. 2, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder went to Panguitch to help celebrate the Nov. 2 birthdays of Karleta Riggs and her daughter Angela Riggs. About 20 little friends enjoyed a treasuer hunt blrlhday party for Angela. |
