Editor: In March, 1984, the Escalante Town Board approved a committee to formulate a plan to care for and improve our cemetery and collect funds for this project. As a committee we felt we had made good progress in work done, planning, and funds collected. Now we learn that the town board has chosen to try to create a cemetery district which will be supported by a tax levy on the real estate in our area. Because of the choice of action of the town board, our committee is dissolved and is returning all funds we collected. Thank you for your trust and support.
