Show Escalante Chat Lucille Cowles The mini-bus took a group of senior citizens to Richfield to take advantage of the sales. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Cowles were in Richfield on business and also to shop. They visited overnight with their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Cowles, who took them to Salt Lake City to see their grandson, Stuart Cowles, who had been in an accident. Mr. and Mrs. Claud LeFevre visited the Orvil Cowles. LaRue Spencer had surgery on her toe. The PTA held the annual Halloween carnival Wednesday night with lots of goblins, witches, and other spooks. Participants were entertained with a Cakewalk, a dart game, a treasure hunt, and shave-the-balloon, milk-the-cow, sucker-pull, pick-a-box, squirt-the-flame-from-the-pumpkin, and decorate-a-cookie booths. Prizes of one silver dollar were awarded to the baby Eldon Griffin twins, and to Wendy Woolsey, Jaleen Griffin and Garrett Cottam. Rose Woolsey traveled to Salt Lake City to attend an Emergency Medical Technician convention. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leak were in Salt Lake City on business. Pat Coughlin rode up with them to buy a new pickup. Victory Crawford had a group of ladies over for dinner who had completed a scripture-reading assignment. Darlene Edmiston went to Panguitch on business. Local scouts took part in a overnight campout where they worked on their Pioneering badges and completed work on their Forestry badges. Jennie Davis went to Panguitch to visit her mother, Mabel Norton. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis were in Cedar City for the day. Ethel Foster and Rose Caldwell took the day off and went to Cedar City on Friday. On Saturday Rose took Ethel to the hospital for emergency treatment of a nose bleed. |
