Managers of Campaign Want to Be on Safo Side, Hence This , Request. INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 26. Republicans Republi-cans are getting alarmed about Indiana. In-diana. Leastwise they are hustling to get out their votes. Bryan's whirlwind tour through the State, rounding up the silver vote for Parker and Davis, has caused a genuine scare. All the machinery the Republican party can command in Indiana ls being brought Into play to counteract the effect ef-fect of Bryan's trip and to line up Its forces solidly for election day. Word has been handed1 out to the workers to get busy and stop making predictions. Wanderers Asked to Return. Hooslers who have wandered away to other States, but retain their citizenship here, are being urged to come back and vote In order that Indiana may be saved to Roosevelt. This ls not saying that Roosevelt will lose Indiana, but those who are managing man-aging the campaign want to be on the safe side. Taggart in Charge. While the actual result of Bryan's tour will not be known till the day after af-ter the election. It ls becoming more apparent ap-parent to unbiased observers that there has been a rapid change In the situation situa-tion favorable to the Democrats. Tho return of Taggart to assume charge of the fight has further added to the hope of the Democrats that they are about to win a great victory. It Is evident, however, that the Bryan tour and the advent of Taggart have caused the Republicans Re-publicans to work harder than ever, and that they are now lighting to retain the ground they have gained during the last ten yeare. . Working Fairbanks Hard. The Itinerary announced for Senator Fairbanks' tour shows that the Republican Repub-lican organization will try to have him accomplish more In six days than Bryan In eight. He Is booked for sixty-seven speeches, covering practically the same points that Bryan reached or will have reached after he completes his Indiana trip next Tuesday and Wednesday: The Itinerary shows that the Vice-Presidential Vice-Presidential candidate will close the campaign in Indianapolis. He will ypeak from his own porch, whero he waa notified of his nomination a few weeks ago. Rival Demonstrations.
