Show WOMEN IN COUNCIL International Convention Opens at Liberty Hall, "World's Fair. ST. LOUIS, Mo., Oct. 26. The world's fair meeting of the International Council of Women, held today in Liberty hall, was devoted to an address by Mrs. May "Wright Scwell of Indianapolis,' honorary president of tho council. In defining its aims and purposes sho said: "Tho International Council, composed of nineteen national councils, stands for social peace and International arbitration, a single standard of morality and tho abolition of every right and privilege of Government that Is limited by sex. "In many ways tho progress of our council has been retarded by tho several wars which have arisen since Its organization. organi-zation. The action taken by Christian nations na-tions during tho late Boxer troubles, such as the looting of temples, tho Ill-treatment of priests and the violation of women, wo-men, deserves most severe criticism.
