Show Early PJloming Fire Razes Rex Christofferson Home Loss Estimated at S4,S00; Slight Insurance Coverage Fire early Monday morning destroyed the home of Rex Christofferson, located four miles north of Roosevelt on the Neola highway. Total loss is estimated at around $4,500, $2,500 on the house and an additional $2,000 on destroyed furniture. The house was insured for $700. The origin of the fire is unknown, but Mr. Christofferson believes it may have originated on the roof, from sparks from the coal stove. - -num Mrs. Christofferson d i s c o v-ered v-ered the fire after her husband had left for work. After failing to make any headway against the advancing ilames with water, wa-ter, she sent Nile, one of the Christofferson's four children, to the home of a nearby neighbor, Everett Lawson, where he attempted at-tempted to reach his father at his place of employment, Ash-ton's Ash-ton's in Roosevelt. Mr. Christofferson was not in when the phone call came through, and the call was received re-ceived by Joe Harrison, who located lo-cated Mr. Christofferson at a local cafe. When informed of the fire Mr. Christofferson, Carl Hacking, Hack-ing, Red Hamilton and Jim Chi-dester Chi-dester rushed to the burning home, and succeeded in salvaging salvag-ing about $75 worth of furniture furni-ture from the flames. |
