Show School Doings ROOSEVELT HIGH The 9th grade physical education edu-cation class Thursday, Feb. 9, defeated their 11th grade contemporaries, con-temporaries, 14-4, in a bitterly contested ball game. Janet Stevens, Stev-ens, of the freshies, was high point player. . Lineups: 9th grade. Janice Anderton, Ruth Burr, Janet Stevens, and VaLene Dye, forwards; for-wards; Shirlee Penfield, Hazel Fredrickson, and Mary Murphy, Mur-phy, forwards. 11th grade, Dorothy Dor-othy Anderton, Sally Nelson, LaWanna Dillman, and Maur-lene Maur-lene Burton, forwards: L e t a Haddock, Hattie Lue Gardner, and Jean McClellan, guards. Referees were Maxeen Hurley and Glenda Rudy, first half: and Merle Roller and Berniece Felt-er, Felt-er, second half. The scorekeep-er scorekeep-er was Glenda Walker. i i i Junior classmen have been making plans for their prom, which, if all goes well, will be held at Victory Park in the early spring. Suggestions for theme and decorations are welcome wel-come from all. A wildlife lyceum program was presented, Feb. 6. by Vinson Brown, explorer and naturalist. natural-ist. An exchange program by Uintah Uin-tah high school students was presented Feb. 10. Included in the numbers were a couple of instrumental, a girl - manned sextet, tap dancing, and a pi ano solo, and an hilarious read, ing. ' Fehrya-y 14, Juniors and Seniprs assembled in the auditorium aud-itorium to hear a lecture hy gtg. Jensen, of Salt Lake City, on opportunities offered in the armed forces. The RHS P. E. department for girls has been challenged by B. Y. high to a game of volley ball. The local team will be chosen from members of the Junior and Senior physical ed. class, and will consist of six players and four substitutes, a'l of whom must have a "C" average. aver-age. The game is set for Feb. 25. This week the Juniors are ordering their senior rings. A ring committee, made up of Le-lg Le-lg Hacking. Gall Alexander, Renee Stewart, Marlene Fredrickson, Fred-rickson, and Danny Beeler. have chosen the rings for the Juniors to pick from.
