Show Deal Sill: Feb. 16. 1950 When it's warm in other parts of the state it's cold in the Uintah Uin-tah Basin, and when it's cold elsewhere it's cold here. So you . can pretty well judge what the weather situation is. Duchesne is in a quandry over what official title George Stewart Stew-art carries in the Republican party. He was among the dignitaries digni-taries who attended the Lincoln Day banquet the other day, and folks down below are wondering wonder-ing just where he stands in the GOP. I couldn't tell 'em much except ex-cept that he was a Republican and that I thought maybe he was a sort of "hatchet man" for a fellow by the name of Lee. Well, they wanted to know what h. a "hatchet man" was, and I I did my best to tell 'em. Now that I've had a day or two to think it over I find that a "hatchet man" is a sort of ward healer. Yea, that's what George is, a sort of ward healer. heal-er. So if anyone asks, you can tell 'em that's what George is in the Republican party. "Hatchet Man" sounds a little bit on the rough side, even for a politician, so I think maybe it would be better if we settled for ward healer. . As ever. Unc. |
