Show - Fanguitch Fatter - Mamie Talbot To the tune of leashed, barking dogs, several bunches of deer have - been coming into town at night to tip toe through the tulips and nip them off as they go. Numerous gardeners are fuming and wondering how to fight the graceful nippers. Cory Clark called to say that she and husband Terry are the new managers of the Color Country Motel and, ready or not, had a bus load of tourists the first night open. The Clarks barely moved across Main Street from their former jobs at the Bryccway Motel. The Art Grccnlcafs arc home from Salt Lake City and Art is a patient in the local hospital. Nida Mae Jensen came through her surgery with flying colors and she and Doug arc expected home very soon from up north. Former town members Frank and Iva Cline celebrated their 50ih wedding wed-ding anniversary in the north country. coun-try. They have many friends in these parts who joy with them over the past and wish them well for the next 50 years or so. The John Talbots have a new baby boy. The Robert Judds had his parents, the Vaughn and Judds of Kanab, and several other relatives here over the weekend. The Lewis Hcywoods visited with the Gary Owens family. The Hcywoods operated the Bryceway Motel for several years. Florcnc Sellers had surgery in St. George and is home now to recuperate. At church on Sunday Branden Hatch was advanced from Primary . into the Young Mens MIA. He is the son of the Randy Hatches. Clair Baldwin was released as Young Mens president in the Panguitch LDS Third Ward and Wally Orton was sustained to the position. Clair has to be on his new job in Col- '. orado by May 1. He is a former bishop of the Third Ward. All of the family of the Art ' Crosbys joined in a get-together ' over the Easter weekend in Hurricane Hurri-cane at the home of son, Billy Crosby. The Bob Dodds of Salt Lake City are here. While Mary helps her mother Ena Schow get settled, Bob is helping the other Dodds brothers install sprinkling systems up on the freshly worked ground on Bill Dodds Hill south of town. Former Panguitch bishop John Crofts and his wife Marjorie Rust Crofts have been called to serve an LDS work mission to Adam-Ondi- Ahman, Missouri. The Crofts live in Ordcrville. Richard Talbot was in the area with an archaeology survey team from Brigham Young University and spent a night with Mamie Talbot. Tal-bot. Dawna Barney, husband Larry Barney and their son Clint Barney spent the Easter holiday in Tempe, Ariz., where son Kris Barney is attending at-tending school. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Church of Salt Lake City have a new baby boy, Andrew Clem Church. Grandparents Grand-parents are the Clem Churches of Panguitch and Gwen's parents, the Eldon Ellisons of Delta. Pleased great-grandmothers in town are Mary Henrie and Kate Church. Deanna Gillies and daughter Kimberlee Gillies went to St. George so that Kimberlee could interview in-terview her grandmother about days gone by for a personal history class at college. Scrib Gillies is mending from broken ribs received when he and a little granddaughter were thrown from a horse that shied at tumbling weeds. Scrib was taken to Salt Lake City when blood clots from leg injuries in-juries hit his heart. He is home now and doing well. The Ralph Gouldings look Beverly's Bev-erly's mother, Opal Norton to spend a week wi:h the Ellis Talbots in St. George and to visit with her grandson grand-son Troy Norton, son of Dclane Norton. Opal is back in town now with the Gouldings to visit with family and friends. Lynda Henric brought the Carvel Henries home from medical treatment treat-ment up north. Lynda visited with her folks, the Phil Dickensons before be-fore returning home. Norma Crompton is home after a two-week visit with family members mem-bers in Cedar City. Annctt Heywood and Myrtle Heywood are here. Annett is with her folks, the Kay Heywoods. Afton Church and Ruby Myers went to Wayne County where Ruby visited with her brother Wallace Alvey in Lyman and Afton went to Bicknell to pick up her sister Jessie Giles. They went on to Payson to attend the 60th wedding anniversary party for some friends from the Boulder and Escalante country, Melford and Delia Lyman King. They also saw several other relatives rela-tives and friends formerly of Garfield County. On the way home the sisters stopped at Fairview to attend the wedding open house of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Henrie. Maxine Crosby and Helma Haas spent a day in Richfield. The Brown Sanfords went to Cedar City and returned in a new car. Jim Whitely has a new job with the Utah Department of Transportation to start in two weeks. Jim is presently the friendly "breadman." Emergency Medical Technician volunteers, the Buck Bulkleys, Keith Frandsens and Jake Bagnells took their trailers and spent several days at Lake Powell where they attended at-tended a school and enjoyed the goings-on at Wahweep Marina. Mamie Talbot and Barbara Talbot Tal-bot went to Cedar City and St. George on business. They also visited vis-ited with the Ellis Talbots before returning home so Barbara could return to the Four-Corners area to finish the school year. Fourteen senior citizens attended the St George LDS Temple. The Sands Motel is getting some refurbishing done. It is not yet open for business. Mark Orton has the former Myron My-ron Proctor lot all ready for a new house to be moved onto it. The new Joe Decker family gave the program in the Second Ward. The Panguitch First Ward enjoyed en-joyed a late Easter program. The monthly meeting of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be held April 14, at 2:30 p.m. in the senior citizens center. New officers are to be elected and other important business attended to. All members are urged to be there. The Ray Tebbs are home for a week from St. George and have their daughter Linda Sue Jacobson, Cardston, Canada, with them. Linda Sue came down to bring their son Troy Jacobson to go into the Mission Mis-sion Training Center at Proyo. Troy will have his 19lh birthday in the center and is called to work in the North Carolina LDS mission. The Tebbs will soon be moving back home for the summer. |
