Show Swim Club Formed At Panguitch Pool A new swim club which will be affiliated with the Southern Utah Aquatics Club now being formed is developing in the Panguitch area under Swim Coach Ann Reynolds. The club will be open to good swimmers from eight years old through high school seniors. Team members are expected to take part in a variety of competitive events throughout the summer months, in Cedar City, St. George, Delta, Richfield, Kanab, Hurricane and Panguitch. They will also compete in Las Vegas and Flagstaff, Ariz., with meets taking place on weekends. week-ends. Membership in the SUAC will permit members to qualify for regular U.S. amateur competition in swimming. The membeship fee, regularly $25, has been reduced to only $11 during the membership drive. Swimmers taking part will need black tank-type swim suits, and a small additional fee will be charged for the Panguitch club. "This is the most exciting chance for our swimmers we've ever had," said Reynolds. "They should not only have lots of fun on competition com-petition weekends, but they'll also have an opportunity to hone their skills." "This joint effort for southern Utah really needs our support," she said. "It will give our young people a chance to compete with swimmers swim-mers from all over Utah." Swimmers will practice at least three times a week and possibly five, she said. Volunteers are needed ; to help and anyone interested in aiding in any way is encouraged to j contact her. Good swimmers who would like to be a part of the summer fun are also encouraged to contact Reynolds about joining. "The first competitive meet will be held in June, so we'd like to get started with practices in early May to be ready," said Reynolds. "Swimmers will be swimming freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, butterfly and relays, in 100, 200 and 500 meters," she said.
