Show Region Schools Name Girls State Delegates Four students from Panguitch High School, one from Escalante High School and one from Piute High School in Junction, were chosen by the American Legion Auxiliary to attend Girls Slate set for Southern Utah Slate College in Cedar Cily from June 12 to 18. Girls State will present different aspects of government policies, practices, and procedures to the girls laking part. The American Legion has long been in the forefront of bringing many opportunities to young people to help them become acquainted wilh the inner workings of government and to inspire them to participate in the political process. Students selected to attend Girls State will have an opportunity to form quasi-governmental bodies and work out solutions to the many problems that often face officials. Attending from the local area will be Marnie Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Miller; Kimberly Gillies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scrib Gillies; Tonya Judd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jcrold Judd; and Suzcltc Holman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Holman, all from Panguitch. Other students chosen were Stacie Sta-cie Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Davis, Boulder, and Paula Brindley, daughicr of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brindley, Circleville. |
