Governor Simon Bambeiger yesterday announced that changes have been made in the personnel of local draft boards in three counties as follows: Summit county YV. B. Wilson of Park ! City to succeed A. C. Hortin of Coalville. Coal-ville. Iron county Alfred Boyd to succeed J. 'F. Fife. Utah county Arch M. Thurman to succeed suc-ceed 1j. K. Eggertsen. Out of nearly 300 attorneys in Sail Lake county who were called to service with the legal advisory board only five ; have failed to take the necessary oath : and accept assignment, according to James 11. 'Wolfe, chairman of the Salt Lake county loyal advisory beard executive ex-ecutive committee. "Response of the leal profession to the call of the president to assist registrants regis-trants has been splendid." Mr. Wolfe said yesterday. "Almost unanimously the attorneys at-torneys have accepted and filled their assignments as-signments without complaint, and in a splendid spirit of teamwork. The interest of men liable to the selective selec-tive draft, who, through ignorance or inability in-ability to read and speak FngHsh, fail to safeguard themselves, will be protected by the government, according to information received bv the, district board from Washington, Wash-ington, D.' C. Ignorance Protected. Tf a man. through non -culpable ignorance, igno-rance, fails to claim exemption' where he lias every right to do so, or who fails to appeal from tbe decision or classification of his loi-al board, where such an appeal should be made, the necessary procedure will be instituted in his behalf. This will be done through the instrumentality instru-mentality of appeal agents, one of whoiru. the regulations provide, will be appointed to each local draft board by the governor. gover-nor. Besides safeguarding the interests of the registrants, he also will safeguard the interests of the government by appealing ap-pealing to the district boards any deferred classification which, in his opinion, should not have been granted by the local boards.
