"While it is expected that the meeting may develop some significance of the lines of next Monday night's reorganization, reorganiza-tion, yet its declared purpose ie to accord ac-cord a proper recognition to outgoing and incoming commissioners. In the meantime the tangle of reorganization reor-ganization plans was again unraveled yesterday. The result showed Commissioned Commis-sioned Karl A. Scheid in public safety, .Mayor Ferry in finance. Commissioner Albert Al-bert H. Crabbe in streets, Commission C. Clarence Neslen in the waterworks, Com-jff Com-jff missioner Herman H. Green remaining V in the department of parks and public property, the only one not to be shifted. Yesterday's straightening out of the tangle is credited to Mr. Xesln's consenting con-senting to take the waterworks department depart-ment and allowing Mr. Crabbe to have the department of streets. Commissioner Commission-er Scheid, it is understood, will be voted into the safety department by three votes other than his own. Nothing definite has been determined with regard to the chief of police, so far as confirmation from authentic source could be had yesterday. That Martin FJ. Mulvey might be the man if Commissioner Commis-sioner Suheid is landed in the public safety department is predicted by some because of the fact that Mr. Scheid is known to have mentioned Mr. Mulvey as likely police chief material when it previously pre-viously appeared that the commissioner would be given public safety. Others predict pre-dict that some other candidate will find favor with Mr. Scheid should he be made bead of the safety department, pointed out that his position is such that he can act Independently to a large degree, since he has persistently declared that be did not want the safety department and announced an-nounced that he not only will not vote lor himself but will vote to retain Mayor Ferry in that position. |
