Show TAKES OWN LIFE IN FIT OF DESPONDENCY Ernest Dudler Shoots Self in Head Because of Financial Worries. In a fit of despondency, presumably superinduced by worrying over financial finan-cial matters, Ernest Dueller, 41 years old, married, of 806 East Twenty-first South street, placed a .38 caliber'revol-ver caliber'revol-ver to his head at 3 :55 o Vlocli yesterday yes-terday afternoon, as he sat on a bench near the southwestern entrance of the t park surrounding the City and County i building, and sent a bullet crashing I through his brin, which resulted, in his , death an hour later. A note found in the vest pocket of the dying man, hinted at, but did not reveal, the reason for his morbid mental men-tal condition. The note, which follows, was evidently written shortly before he fired the fatal shot: To the Press of Salt Lake: My Dear Friends: If you can't say anything good about please don't say anything at all. I am just tired of Jiving, that's all. With lots of due respect for Utah and its people, and all of my dear friends, I am going to my maker. Appended to the note was a postscript post-script as follows: "My dear wife will give yon more information. Please give my older brother the gun as a souvenir. Tt will explain all." According to Arthur White of the White-Savage Motor company, 436 South Main street, for which firm Dud-ler Dud-ler was a salesman, White and Dudler planned to go to Boise, Jdaho, the latter lat-ter part of this week to look after business matters pressing for attention, and Dudler 's act came as a surprise to his employer, who stated to the police po-lice that he appeared to be in good spirits yesterday while discussing the trip to Boise. |
