Show SAYS SPOUSE TRIED TO STRANGLE HER Mrs. J. F. Sickles Sues for Separation From Husband Who, She Declares, Threatened to Kill Her. f The telephone receiver, a clock and a bucket are among the things that Mrs. Luella Sickles alleges her husband, John Franklin Sickles, threw at her on various occasions. She alleges he once brandished a butcher knife with threats to kill her and again that he half strangled her with an apron as she sat in a chair. Once, the wife recounts, her husband hus-band struck at her in rage and injured his knuckles on a cabinet, which received re-ceived the force of the blow, so badly that he was unable to work for several sev-eral days. The bucket-throwing episode epi-sode followed the wife's going to a dance with a neighbor woman and the husband's rage upon learning of it, according ac-cording to the wife's attestation. Furthermore, Mrs. Sickles- alleges that her spouse remains away all night at times and not infrequently for days at a time and that he gets intoxicated. She is suing for a divorce on ground of cruelty, the complaint being filed yesterday in the Third district court. |
