Show LIONS VARIETY SHOW TO AID iEEDY Date has been named and committees com-mittees set up for the Sugar House Lions club annual variety show, according ac-cording to Raymond F. Hilton, chairman. December 11 at Granite high auditorium has been set for the show which is a benefit event staged stag-ed to raise funds for the Lion community activities. Chief among theseis the sight conservation program , whereby the club provides eye care for underprivileged un-derprivileged children. Perhaps the biggest project ever handled in this manner culminated culmin-ated in July 1051, when young Roma Escojido returned from Minneapolis Min-neapolis with her Master Eye dog. Sugar House Lions provided the dog, the round trip by air to the Master Eye Foundation and the three weeks training necessary for all new guide dog owners. Roma is now an honor student at East high. The Lions club has a permanent committee set up to arrange for eye examinations and care, and eyeglases when necessary for those unable to meet such expenses. Armond B. Coles is program chairman for the show. Several musical numbers are scheduled from the South high A Capella choir. Other acts will be announc-j announc-j ed later. I LeGrancle Silvers will emcee the show, and is chairman of the prize committee. Henry W. Richards is sponsor, and Lewis F. Rockwood is publicity-man. Lincoln T. Hansen and Ray D. Free are handling the ticket sales campaign. |
