Show EYE SIGHT'S IMPORTANT TO HUNTERS Check your eyesight before starting start-ing your hunting trip, is the advice ad-vice of Dr. Curtis Dearden, president presi-dent of the Utah Optometric Association. As-sociation. Good eyesight is essential to both success and safety, Dr. Dearden said, and he itemized the following as essentials of good hunting vision: (1) Ability to focus and see clearly at all distances from the back sight of a gun to at least 100 yards. (2) Ability to judge distance and space relationships which is customarily cus-tomarily known as depth perception. percep-tion. (3) Freedom from color blindness blind-ness to help make sure that fellow fel-low hunters are not mistaken for game. (4) A wide field of vision an arc of at least 150 degrees to detect de-tect game and to avoid accidents to fellow hunters who may walk across the field of fire. |
