Show IRVING PUPILS ENJOY SPOOK PARTY Irving high teachers and pupils donned costumes last Friday for the school's annual misfit day, and prizes were awarded to teachers teach-ers and pupils whose costumes were judged the most beautiful, most original and funniest, reports Alice Braun. Mrs. Norma H. Anderson, as a bride of 1900, and Miss Ivie J. Ensign, as a gypsy fortuneteller, shared honors for the most beautiful beauti-ful costume. Student Deweeda Neilson's storybook costume was named most beautiful. Teacher Keith Wooley as Ivanhoe and student Pat Peterson as a merry-go-round garnered prizes as most original. "Funniest" tags went to Mrs. Melva Hutchings as a duck hunter and Ronald Healy as the headless horseman. Morning assembly was held with the program including a ballet dance by Carol Ann Allen, a duet by Varlane Showell and Brends Brown, accompanied by Mrs. Helen Lee Master. Janet Woodbury read "The Recruit" Re-cruit" and a faculty quartet, Hugh Evans, Mark C. Lloyd, Joseph Hill-stead Hill-stead and Mark Angus, sang "Home on the Range." A get-acquainted dance, a "date dance" and a movie rounded out the day's celebration. |
