Show SCADS OF GiRLS H 'PASSING SHOW Comedy Work of Wilfie and Eugene Howard Features Orpheum Play Girls, scads of them, all pretty, graceful and good singers, aro the feature of "The Passing Show of 10 IS," which played before a highly' enthusiastic audience at the Orpheum J theatre last night. There arc many other features, including in-cluding tho splendid comedy work of Willie and Eugene Howard and the other comedians, but after all is said and done it was the ensemble of beautiful girls ihat made the show. There were groups of short plump girls, groups of short, fllim girls, groups of tall thin girls and tall stately girls and then Just girls. All could dance and sing. There didn't seem to bo a raucous voice In tho bunch. And how they could wear costumes- Nearly everybody has been to a throe-ringed circus In which there Avas so much going on that only a part could be seen. The Passing Show Is like a onc-rlngcd circus, which so much goes on In the one ring that it takes some tall hustling to see It all. There Is no plot to the show. It Is a gigantic spectacle of fun, song, dancing and genera? all-around A Xo. 1 entertainment. . Chief among the fun producers arc the Howard Brothers, who were a riot from the moment they stepped on tho stage. John Burke ranked next as a laugh maker Avith his story of how he came to bo drafted. Roy Cummlhgs made cvorybody marvel as to how ho could take so many tumbles without destroying de-stroying some of his facial features and Will H. Phllbrlck did his share to drlA'c away dull care. Among tho young Avomcn singers is a dandy coloratura soprano, Leela Cordcr. Somo fino numbers in an exceptionally good baritone A'olce were given by Edward Basse. There aro many xrcal melodious songs In tho two acts and all Incidental Inci-dental music by the orchestra Avas of a high order. The final performance of tho big production will be given tonight. oo |
