Hopkins Reports Majority Major-ity Will Return to City Schools Next Year "Over 85 per cent of the teachers working under the city board of education edu-cation have signed their contracts and returned them to the office," said W. Karl Hopkins, superintendent of the system, this morning. "This is a great deal better than many cities from which I have reports, re-ports, where, although in some instances in-stances a higher wage schedule is in operation, the number of teachers who I will return to their work next year is considerably lower than In Ogden." This percentage is likely to be Increased, In-creased, Mr. Hopkins thinks, as an extension ex-tension of time has been allowed to same teachers who. for domestic reasons, rea-sons, have had to take longer time to consider their decision. "In one school of the citv where we have a very able staff, 17 out of IS teachers employed will return to their work In September. I have -Sverv reason rea-son to be gratified," continued Mr. Hopkins. nn. |
