Herrick Relates Incident Inci-dent Concerning Mormons Years Ago in Virginia An Incident of the raising of the dead in the latter days Avas related Sunday morning by Elder John L. Horrick, former president of the western west-ern states mission, before tho high priests of the Weber stake in Weber normal college. Elder Horrick was Invited to address the high priests by President T. S. BroAvning, who presided pre-sided over the meeting, which was largely attended. Declaring that all things were pus-slblc pus-slblc to him that believes through the power of faith, Elder Herrick during his address related that whllo attending attend-ing a conference at Pueblo a short time ago, ono of tho many who ' bpro testimony to the divinity of the Avork of tho Prophet Joseph Smith" was a Mr. Hcnlngor. According to Elder Herrick, Her-rick, Mr. Henlnger related that Avhen he av.13 a boy of 11 years of age, two Mormon missionaries came to Virginia, Vir-ginia, where he was then living. These missionaries were unwelcome A'isitora in the state and wore subjected to persecution, per-secution, being tarred and feathered and. driven into tho Avood-3, whore they remained two days without food or clothing. Mr. llcnlngcr stated that his mother finally camo to tho assistance assist-ance of tho two young men, fed and .clothed them as far as she was able. Then they loft, and there wero no more Mormon missionaries in that district dis-trict for another two years. After an elapse of two ; eats, Mr Hcningcr said, more Mormon missionaries mis-sionaries came to the state. Tho family llA'ed some distance from tho place and Elder Morgan traveled all night, arriving ar-riving at the Keninger home about 3 o'clock the next morning, and w.it informed in-formed that the boy had dici at ! i o'clock the preceding night. Mr. Ileninger lived to be C5 years of age and died recently, Elder Horrick said.
